When convicted rapists were asked what they looked for in choosing a victim, they looked at hairstyle (something to grab), someone who was distracted and someone that did not look like they would fight back.
This video will give you some additional information that you can add to your "toolbox" in the hopes of ensuring your personal safety and the safety of your loved ones.
WEEKLY EXERCISES TO INCREASE YOUR AWARENESS SKILLS
Week 1.Think like a predator. Observe the people around you. Who would you choose as a potential victim? Why would you choose a certain person? Do you have any of the habits or behaviors that would make you choose them as a potential target?
Week 2. Become a Self Stalker. As you go about your usual business and daily routines, notice when you are most vulnerable. Are there steps you can take to make yourself less vulnerable? If you were a predator, when would you be most likely to plan your attack on yourself?
Week 3. As you go about your usual business, try to identify three objects in each room or location that you could use as a weapon against an assailant. Have a specific plan how you would use these items against an attacker. Fore example, "I would take this stapler and smash his nose with it".
